Are you looking for a treatment for your pet’s stress or trauma? Bach systems has a line of all natural homeopathic products for you to try.
We all manage stress differently including our pets, so why not try to assist in calming them especially if you foresee a potential situation where your pet could experience stress such as, visits to the veterinarian, thunderstorms, relocation, boarding or any sudden change in their schedule. This is precisely why I experimented with Rescue Remedy for Pets.
I decided to enroll my 2 dogs in doggie daycare twice a week and I knew this would be an adjustment especially for my dog Jake. He has lovingly been labeled my “anxiety” dog. In the past when he faced a new situation it’s taken quite sometime to relax and adjust, sometimes even becoming withdrawn a bit.
Rescue Remedy is all natural, comprised of five different flower formulas and is alcohol free. Initially I put four drops of rescue remedy in his water bowl, however because I have two dogs I started putting the drops right on a treat for him to be sure that he was getting the full dosage.
I chose to start him on this product only on the days when he went to daycare to assist with his anxiety. He received the dosage three times a day and
I was pleased to see that it did not have a smell or taste that seemed to affect his appetite for a treat. Happily, I noticed no side effects from using this product EXCEPT for a calmer dog!
He definitely exhibited a more relaxed state but not drowsy by any means. We know our pet’s unique personalities and I have no doubt that this product did take the edge off of a stressful situation and assisted him. Occasionally when he gets overly anxious at home or in the car and barks too much I use this product. It is convenient, safe, effective and inexpensive. I think I will have to try this on my Siamese cat, Isaac next!

Music definitely has a therapeutic component to it. I’ve been a faithful user of a series of music cd’s produced by through a Dog’s Ear. These cds are the product of bioacoustic research, which is the study of sound frequency, harmonic patterns and their effects on heart rate. During the day while I’m at work I leave the radio on at a very low volume for my dogs however, at night when it’s bedtime I switch to through a Dog’s ear specifically!

I can’t think of a better way to support Spay/Neuter efforts in Massachusetts than by buying an animal friendly license plate. Go Pet Friendly with your automobile and you’ll immediately be noticed as an animal lover around town!
A great program was implemented by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles and the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC)- a pet friendly license plate! The initial cost is 40.00 and 81.00 every other year upon license plate renewal.

This month, I found two products that offer a balance of physical and mental exercise for canines of all sizes-the Busy Buddy Waggle and the Tug-A Jug. I picked up both of these toys in the pet section of Target and tried them with my own canine buddies at home-the toys were a big hit!

In December I attended the Bay Colony Dog Show held in Boston at the Bayside Expo Center. As a proud pet parent of three dogs named Rocky (Puggle), Jake (Puggle) and Sasha (Brussels Griffon) and two cats named Caesar and Isaac, I couldn’t wait to uncover new and trendy dog products and share them with our South Shore Pet.Com readers!
